Alana Simone Lawson was born on September 5th, 1981, in Reidsville, North Carolina, the second oldest daughter of the late Thomas Woodrow Neal and Evangelist Carol Jean Lawson. Alana received her heavenly rest on Wednesday morning surrounded by her family.
As a child, she was raised at St. Stevenson Apostolic Church. When her family moved in faith, she joined Christ Temple Church of Deliverance of the Apostolic Faith, Inc., in Reidsville, North Carolina. Alana enjoyed encouraging her friends, supporting her family, playing the tambourine, and proudly serving in the military. Thereof, she served 22 years collectively in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Coast Guard. One of her favorite quotes was: “If you want to see God laugh, tell Him your plans”. Alana loved to praise the Lord with a dance and didn’t mind telling people her testimony while battling leukemia. Her words to everyone who tried to sympathize with her were “I have crazy faith”! She was known as “Lanie”, “Lanie Pooh”, “Lana”, but her happiest title was “Mommy”. She loved them with all her heart and did everything possible to enjoy life to the fullest with them. The three children were the apple of her eye, and she didn’t mind showing it.
Preceding her in death are her father, Thomas Woodrow Neal; grandmothers, Evangelist Martha Jean Lawson and Elder Itaskia Neal.
Those left to cherish her memories are: her mother, Carol Lawson, of Reidsville, NC; her beloved son, David Narice Bush Jr., of Reidsville, NC; two daughters: Alayah Sa’Nise Bush, of Browns Summit, NC, and Aniyah Simone Bush, of Browns Summit, NC; one brother: Anthony Rasshard Lawson, of Reidsville, NC; one sister: Pastor Dr. Alica Neal, of Greensboro, NC; uncles: Ray Lawson, James Neal, and Roy Neal, of Reidsville, NC; aunts: Iwilda Lee, of Reidsville, NC, Wilma Neal and Mary Alice Speaks, of Greensboro, NC; children’s father & long time friend, David Bush, Sr.; special loved ones: Twan Winchester, Cindy Pass, Tamesha Johnson, ShaDonna Simpson, Kamiesha Warner, Janice Stokes, Sherita Paylor, Mia Lewis, and Syreeta Jarret; and a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and military friends.
