Alvin Walker, Jr. Obituary

Alvin E. Walker Jr. was born on May 29, 1967, in Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia, to Susan Walker and Alvin Walker Sr. As the son of a military serviceman, Alvin spent part of his early life in Germany before returning to Atlanta, Georgia, where he continued his journey as a late teen alongside his mother.

Alvin was a man of many talents and even bigger dreams. Affectionately known as “The Bass Pro,” he had an undeniable love for the outdoors, especially fishing. He shared that passion through his nonprofit, Pro Bass Outdoor Inc., where he sought to teach and inspire youth through the art of fishing. Alvin spent countless hours by the water, competing in tournaments, exchanging playful banter with his fishing buddies, and encouraging others to find joy in nature.

When he wasn’t fishing, Alvin embraced other outdoor passions like deer hunting and grilling. He was also an avid gun collector and enthusiast. Known as a jack of all trades, Alvin began his career in carpentry, co-founding J Faith Construction with his brother-in-law, Corey Holloman. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to launch several businesses, including Fugitive Squad, an armed security service, and a heating and air company, which he ran until his passing.

In 2014, Alvin boldly ran for Fulton County Commissioner, a testament to his drive and unwavering ambition. Though he did not win the race, his determination and commitment to his community never wavered.

Alvin was a devoted and protective husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a loyal friend. Through every challenge, he remained a beacon of humor, strength, and resilience, always finding a way to bring smiles to those around him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Darlean D. Walker; his two daughters, Angel A. Walker and Danielle D. Walker; his sister Lashonn N. Walker and his beloved grandchildren, Isiah and Heaven.

His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
