Anthony Lamont Lester was born on October 18, 1960, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, to Betty Jean Lincoln and Noah Robert Lester. A proud native of Perth Amboy, Anthony grew up surrounded by family, friends, and the strong sense of community that shaped the man he became.
From a young age, Anthony showed a passion for teamwork and dedication. During his years at Perth Amboy High School, he shined on the football field, where he became an all-star athlete and a favorite among teammates. His determination and leadership extended far beyond sports, guiding him throughout his life.
After graduating, Anthony served honorably in the National Guard for two years. His time in service deepened his sense of discipline, commitment, and pride — qualities that would follow him into every chapter of his life. Upon returning home, he began a long and fulfilling career in security. What started as a job quickly became a calling. Through nearly four decades of service, Anthony’s hard work, reliability, and leadership earned him the title of Sergeant of the security team — a position he cherished deeply. He retired in 2024 after 38 years of dedicated service, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and excellence.
Outside of work, Anthony found joy in life’s simple pleasures — spending time with his family and friends, watching sports, and cooking meals that brought everyone together. Family was the center of his world, and he was most proud of his children, who were his greatest accomplishment and joy.
Anthony leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever. He is survived by his mother, Betty Lincoln; his father, Noah Robert Lester; his stepfather, William H. Lincoln; his sisters, Karla Williamson and Cynthia Muniz; his brother, Terry Taylor; his devoted fiancée, Diann Florence; his daughters, Ashley Hunter and Destanie Whitehead; his sons, Anthony Lamont Lester Jr. and Quantrlious Lamont Stanton; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Antoin Lamont Lester, and his sister, Crystal Malinowski, whom we take comfort in knowing welcomed him with open arms.
Anthony will always be remembered for his kind heart, bright smile, and sense of humor that could light up any room. He had a gift for making people laugh and feel at ease, and his presence brought warmth wherever he went.
Though he may no longer be with us in person, his love, laughter, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
