Benny Junior Goddard
August 31, 1953 – May 26, 2025
Benny Junior Goddard, 71, of Cherokee County, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, surrounded by love. Born on August 31, 1953, in Cherokee County, he was the beloved son of the late Betty and Bill Goddard.
Benny is now reunited in Heaven with his parents, his siblings Elizabeth, Linda, Hugh, and Dennis, and his precious son Clifford, who surely greeted him with open arms.
Benny leaves behind his devoted wife of 53 years, Wanda Goddard, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and family. Together they built a legacy that lives on through their children and grandchildren:
• Son Chris Goddard and wife Rachael, and their children: Dr. Christopher and wife Cheyenne Goddard, who are joyfully expecting their first great-grandchild. Their daughter Madison Goddard
• Daughter Stacie Phillips, her son Brad Phillips and his partner Kenna, and great-grandson Xxander; and her daughter Lydia Phillips
• Daughter Amber Goddard and her daughter Summer
He is also survived by his dear sister Patty Gardner and her family, as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved deeply.
Benny spent most of his life working for the airlines—his true professional passion. He was fascinated with aviation and always thrilled when a new, larger plane was announced. Whether it was fixing something or building a new project around the house, Benny was always busy. If a wall came down, another was sure to go up soon after.
More than anything, Benny loved working side by side with his son Chris. Whether it was business or tinkering, being together made it all worthwhile.
Benny was best known for his sense of humor—constantly joking and delighting in scaring his kids just to hear them laugh. He was the heart of every gathering, the laugh in the room, and the joy in our lives. If you needed a smile, Benny was the one to go to.
A virtual memorial will be held on Saturday, May 31st, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST via Zoom at staciezoom.com (http://staciezoom.com/), where friends and family are invited to come together to share stories and laughter in honor of Benny—the way he would have wanted.
May 31st also marks Benny and Wanda's wedding anniversary. In their honor, the family will play Unchained Melody, a song that symbolizes their enduring love and beautiful journey together.
Benny's love, humor, and warmth will live on in every story told, every laugh shared, and every memory held dear.
