Bonnie Brenda Rhodes

Bonnie Lambeth Rhodes was born on March 23, 1947, in New York, NY, to the late Keith and Ollie Lambeth. Bonnie was the oldest of three children born to this union.

Bonnie was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She earned her nursing degree from Coastal Carolina Community College.

While living in New York City, Bonnie met the love of her life, William Lee Rhodes. The two dated for eight months and were married in 1964. To this union, five children were born: Anthony, Michael, Camella, Raymond, and Trina

Bonnie went on to work at Onslow Memorial Hospital for eight years before joining the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, North Carolina, where she dedicated 26 years of service before retiring. She was a hard worker and was well respected at her job. Throughout her nursing career, Bonnie received numerous awards in recognition of her exceptional care and commitment to her patients.

 Bonnie enjoyed reading, watching mystery movies, and traveling. When she wasn’t doing those things, she was often shopping online. QVC, HSN, and even the UPS driver knew her by name.  Bonnie also enjoyed listening to different genres of music, especially kingdom ministry songs, and spending time with loved ones. She was best known for her stylish dressing and honesty; you could always count on Bonnie to tell the truth. She will be deeply missed by everyone.

Bonnie entered eternal rest on the morning of January 3, 2026. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Lee Rhodes, her sister Ingrid Brown, her brother Keith Lambeth, and her granddaughter Nyanna Simmons. She leaves to cherish her memory, five children: Anthony (Charlie), Michael (Mary), Camella, Raymond, and Trina (Damian). Sixteen grandchildren: Courtney Evans, Tavares Rhodes, Michelle Rhodes, Shabreya Bangura (Bassie), Mytese Simmons, Broje’ Simmons, Krissia Simmons, Sanchez Rhodes, Crystal Rhodes, Brittany Hearing, Brandy Hearing, Adrian Hutchins, Ronald Shaw, Katrina Shaw, and Jeremy Johnson, and a host of great grandkids, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
