Catherine Olivia Nichols, lovingly known as “Cat,” passed away on April 21, 2026, at the age of 81, following a long illness. She was a longtime resident of Snellville, Georgia.

Born on June 10 in Brunswick, Georgia, Catherine was the daughter of Earl and Catherine. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, and a strong, unmistakable spirit. Known for her feisty personality, deep love, and unwavering spirituality, Catherine’s first love was God—a devotion that guided her throughout her life. She served faithfully as an elder in her church, a role that reflected her leadership, wisdom, and commitment to her faith community.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. Her presence brought strength, warmth, and love to those around her, and she will be remembered for the way she cared deeply for the people in her life. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her daughter, Teresa; her parents, Earl and Catherine; and her siblings, Victor, Reginald, Alvin, James, and Kenneth.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jonathan and Kamala; her son-in-law, Eddie; her beloved bonus mother, Priscilla; her siblings, Earl Jr., Lee, Junie, Zandra, Katie, Jonnie, Christine, Joan, and Lila; her grandchildren, Jonathan, Cornelius, Karasha, Dashia, Robert, Blair, Isaiah, Laura, Noah, and Jacob; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Catherine will be remembered for her strength, her faith, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.
