Christy Lamas, 53, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
Christy Diane Byess, 53, from all over Georgia, went to be with Jesus on March 24, 2026. To know her was to love her, and her love returned to others 70 times over. She had a contagious smile and a laugh that filled every room she entered. She was funny, had a sense of humor like no other, and you would be laughing if you were in her presence. She was known to always have a Dr. Pepper, a Marlboro Light 100, and a tube of ChapStick.
Don't let size fool you—for what she lacked in height, she more than made up for in personality, strength, and compassion. She was one of the most authentic friends you could ever have, and one of the toughest women you would ever meet. Her presence was unforgettable, her spirit unshakable, and her love unwavering. She was a free spirit, liked things simple, and wanted everyone she loved just to be happy.
She was predeceased and reunited again with her mama, daddy, and her older sister, Carla, who she loved dearly.
She leaves behind her baby sister, Cindy, her children and their spouses—daughter Amber (Doug), her favorite son Jonathan (Meghan), and son JJ (Anna); along with her eight grandchildren, who were the light of her life, and her legacy lives on through each of them.
Christy (Mama, Mimi) will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her love, laughter, and strength will continue to live on in her kids, grandkids, and friends because she gave everyone she loved a piece of her beautiful heart.
