Mr. DeAndre` Antwan Coleman, age 38, of Snellville, GA passed away July 1, 2025.
DeAndre’ was born on August 31, 1986, in Memphis, TN to his proud parents, Terry and Angela Coleman. He grew up in a loving family with two brothers, Terrance and Adrien. They spent most of their childhood going to practice, traveling to games or playing games. He was a ‘jokester’ early on in life. His mother would get calls from his teachers at school about him losing focus on schoolwork but providing the class with plenty of entertainment. This sense of humor would make him fun at the dinner table and with his many friends and family.
DeAndre’ moved to Stone Mountain, GA when he was in middle school and at the end of the first week, he was already asking to spend the night with friends. He grew up in Fairfield Baptist church and accepted Jesus. The thing that he loved about going to church was that he could learn about God and play basketball there too. He played sports for most of his life - football, basketball and baseball. He fell in love with basketball at an early age. His strong work ethic and athleticism propelled him to success at Stephenson High School and later at the University of South Alabama. Ultimately, his talents would take him around the globe as a Professional Basketball player. DeAndre’s favorite quote was “What was once a dream, Is now a reality”. He not only said these words but lived by them both on and off the basketball court. For nearly 10 years, he was a strong contributor on teams in Uruguay, Finland, Mexico, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil and more.
DeAndre’ returned home to the United States at the conclusion of his basketball career and resettled in Atlanta. His next career led him to become an entrepreneur in Insurance and Real Estate. A chance encounter with an old high school classmate brought Nikisha Ogle into his life. Together they parented and loved their only son DeMari’, affectionately known as BamBam or Bam. He came from a tight-knit family and found joy in them and wanted the same for his own son. He was just as passionate about his role as a father as he was about the game of basketball. He coached DeMari’ not only in sports, but in the game of life. They would enjoy family vacations and trips to the office. These experiences would model not only how to make a living but also how to enjoy life.
DeAndre’ was a provider, protector and a philanthropist. He was loyal to those that he loved and dedicated himself to preserving their relationships. He could be counted on to stay in touch and offer help and support when needed. He started a couple of foundations to give back to the youth. He was a motivated and ambitious man, who was not afraid to give his all to enhancing the life of those around him. Some of his favorite things were playing ball, cooking, grilling and playing video games, especially Fortnite and Super Mario with Bam.
On July 1st, 2025, in the early morning, the clock read 00:00 for DeAndre' - It was the end of the fourth quarter.
DeAndre’ was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents. His memory will be forever cherished by his son, DeMari’ and his love, Nikisha Ogle; his parents, Terry and Angela Coleman; his siblings, Terrance and Adrien; and a host of family and friends.
