Debbie Obanleowo, 64, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026.

Memorial service will be held 12 noon, Friday, March 13, 2026 at Boston-Hill Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel.

Debbie Lauren Obanleowo, born Debbie Lauren Howell was born on December 21, 1961, in Atlanta, Georgia. Debbie spent much of her childhood growing up in Chicago, Illinois, where she was raised by her mother Joyce Saunders alongside her two siblings as the middle child. Although she was one of three, she was surrounded by a large and loving extended family who remained an important part of her life throughout the years.

As an adult, Debbie returned to Atlanta, Georgia, where she built her life and community. During this time, she met Yemi Obanleowo, and the two later married and began their life together. In 2003, they welcomed their daughter, Joy Obanleowo, who quickly became the center of Debbie's world. Debbie cherished being a wife and mother and shared a deep and loving bond with her family.

Debbie also valued the relationships she built with friends and family over the years. She enjoyed bringing people together and was known for hosting gatherings and celebrations for many occasions. Her home often served as a place where loved ones could come together, share laughter, and create lasting memories.

To those closest to Debbie would describe her to be a strong and resilient woman who was seen as a guiding figure. Beneath her strong exterior was someone with a warm heart and a deep love for the people in her life. She cared deeply for those around her and built meaningful connections that lasted a lifetime.

Debbie is survived by her devoted husband, Yemi Obanleowo, and her beloved daughter, Joy Obanleowo. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Her memory will continue to live on through the love she shared, the relationships she nurtured, and the many lives she touched throughout her life.
