Emeline C. Felix, 72, of Marietta, GA passed away on June 11, 2026.
Celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. EST, Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Boston-Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
Ms. Emeline Clauretta Felix was called home on June 11, 2026. She was deeply loved by many and touched countless lives with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering presence. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
Emeline was born on August 26, 1953, in Curaçao, Southern Caribbean, to the late John and Catherine Felix. She attended Boston College and later joined the United States Army in 1980. Emeline proudly served her country with honor and distinction, building a successful military career before retiring from the U.S. Army. Following her retirement, she continued her dedication to service through her work with Human Resources Command (HRC) at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Emeline had a vibrant personality and a zest for life that brought joy to everyone she met. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, shopping, playing Bingo, and was a passionate world traveler. Known for her beautiful and infectious smile, she earned the affectionate nickname “Smiley.” She loved bright colors and was rarely seen without her signature red lipstick, a reflection of her bold, confident, and joyful spirit. She was also an avid fan of every version of NCIS and MacGyver.
One of Emeline’s greatest joys was cooking for those she loved. Her famous curry chicken was a staple at family gatherings and special occasions, eagerly anticipated and enjoyed by all who were fortunate enough to share a meal with her. Through her cooking, she brought people together and created lasting memories.
Emeline was a woman of extraordinary kindness, compassion, and generosity. She had a heart for helping others and never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need. Whether assisting a coworker with a professional challenge or supporting a friend or family member through a personal struggle, Emeline always went above and beyond to help. Her caring spirit, selflessness, and genuine concern for others left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Emeline leaves behind a family who will cherish her memory forever. She is survived by her daughter, Tamika De La Cruz; her sons, Kyle Felix and Nathan Felix; her sisters, Nilda Hector, Elsie Weeks, and Noeliz Attidor-Noel; her brothers, Joseph Fergus and Winsley Felix; and her aunt, Grace Dewberry.
She also leaves behind her three grandchildren, Ayana De La Cruz, Jarrell De La Cruz, and Mekaila De La Cruz, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. She was a devoted grandmother.
She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, too numerous to be named individually.
In addition to her family, Emeline leaves behind a host of cherished friends and her military family, far too numerous to name individually, yet each holding a special place in her heart. She also leaves behind her dear friends Debra Owens, Claudette Felix, Wanda Washington, Tracy Smith, and Sandra Walter, whose friendship, love, and support meant so much to her throughout the years.
Emeline’s life was a testament to faith, service, resilience, compassion, and love. Through her generosity, infectious smile, unwavering support, and caring heart, she touched the lives of many. Though she is no longer with us in body, her legacy will continue to live on through the family, friends, and countless individuals whose lives she enriched. Her memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
