Eric Coleman Obituary

Eric Randall Coleman, 54, of Rex, GA passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Eric Randall Coleman was a father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He departed this life on May 19, 2026, due to Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease.

Eric was born to John Stanley and Sandra Coleman on August 29, 1971, and was later lovingly raised by his adoptive parents, Henry Johnson and Carol Waiters. From the very beginning, the odds were against him, but Eric held his head high and overcame them. At a young age, he began working to build the life he wanted for himself. During that journey, he graduated from Glen Mills Schools and pursued a career in football, which was unfortunately cut short after he was shot.

Despite the obstacles he faced, Eric continued to rise every day, determined to build a life he had never known before. After years of hard work, growth, and navigating manhood, he became a subcontractor in 2001 installing home appliances and furniture. Through this career and business venture, he was able to travel, experience life through a new lens, and create the comfort and stability he had always desired.

Eric was a devoted family man who loved football, especially the Philadelphia Eagles. He was known for his wisdom, humor, resilience, and the lessons he shared with those around him. One saying many will always remember from Eric was:

"You're gonna go from your mommy's little boy to the lazy dude on the couch real quick."

Eric leaves behind his children: Maurice Jenkins, Andre Patterson, Christina Patterson, Eric Randall Coleman Jr., Erica Sandra Coleman, Erin Randall Coleman, Cole Hill, and Erianna Coleman; along with many beloved grandchildren.

He is also survived through his siblings, Krystall Coleman, Russel Johnson, Kim Williams, and many more loving family members and friends.

Eric's story inspires many to keep their heads up no matter how difficult life becomes, to keep pushing forward, and to never lose sight of the mission. He left this world loved, admired, and remembered as an inspiration to many.

We love you, Eric, and your legacy will live on forever.
