It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Meril Reynolds, on Friday, September 26, 2025 at the age of 64.
Born in Atlanta, GA, on September 25, 1961, to John Lewis & Rosie Meril Reynolds, Sr, Gwen was a woman of generosity, creativity, love, and peace. Graduating from Fredrick Douglas High School in 1979 with a GPA of 3.8, she found joy in helping others through teaching as a substitute teacher, her healthcare career, and within the hospitality industry. She was also known for her love of drawing, music, and playing favorite games- solitaire and dominions.
She is survived by her children, Darrien (partner Kamara) and Ta'Varis (Aiesha); her grandchildren, Jewelien (18), Gavin (10), Erin (6), Antonio (5), Ariyah (3), Reese (1), & Theo (7 mo); and siblings: Arthur, Joyce (Paul Sr), Linda, Leon (partner Ruth), & William; long time partner Gilbert Wisdom; and host of nieces, nephews, other family members, & friends. She was predeceased by her parents - John Lewis & Rosie Meril Reynolds, Sr, brother - John Lewis Reynolds, Jr, aunt - Evelyn Osborne, and sister in law - Delphinium (Del) Reynolds.
"Many women have done well, but you excel them all." - Proverbs 31:29. And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
To honor Gwen's wishes, there will be no funeral service. The family invites you to privately celebrate her life in your own way.
Service entrusted to Boston's Funeral & Cremation Service 404.228.1067
