James (Boe, Uncle Boe, Scrap) Brinson
James Brinson passed away on March 19, 2025. He was born on December 8, 1952, to the late Robert Lee Gay and his surviving mother, Annie Mae Brinson-Boone.
James was raised in Millen, GA, and later moved to Pahokee, Florida, where he graduated from Pahokee Junior/Senior High School in 1970. After graduating, James was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he proudly served for three years.
James retired from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as a truck driver before starting his own truck driving business, where he received numerous accolades for his outstanding performance.
A devoted family man, James was known for his reserved and conservative nature. He was incredibly skilled with his hands and had a remarkable talent for repairing almost anything. His success rate in fixing things was extraordinary, and he took great pride in his work. James was also a doting grandfather who never wanted to miss his grandson’s soccer or basketball games.
James is survived by his devoted loving wife, Virginia (Ginny) Brinson, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage. He is also survived by his children, Danielle Cummings, Quintel Brinson, and his grandson, Skyler Brinson. He leaves behind his siblings: Johnny Brinson (Della), Lithonia, Georgia, Barbara Hammond (Willie), Royal Palm Beach, FL., Joann Laws (Charlie), Royal Palm Beach, Florida, and Queen Boone, Belle Glade, FL. James’ in-laws, James Richardson, Jr., Clewiston, FL., Willie Richardson (Carolyn), Pensacola, FL., Rosa Stallworth, Pensacola, FL., Lola Pressley, Pensacola, FL., Christine Lewis, (Robert), Greenville, AL., Katrina Wallace (Coleman), Atmore, AL., Debra Freeman, (Daniel), Atmore, AL. and he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and friends.
