Kamau Nazaret, 56, passed away Friday, March 20, 2026.

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the unexpected passing of Kamau Nazaret on March 20, 2026, at his home. Born on April 6, 1969, in San Jose, California, Kamau was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many with his warmth, generosity, and boundless enthusiasm for life.

Kamau was the cherished son of Clarence Dale Mallet and Lea Esther Byrd and the beloved brother of Justin Mallet. His sister, Leah Mallet, predeceased him, and we take comfort in imagining their reunion.

Kamau leaves behind a legacy of love in his children: Tau, Nyah, Aman, and Joshua Macklin, with Germaine Macklin, and Sarahn and Isis Nazaret, with Angelee Berry.

His children were the light of his life, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and individuality.

Kamau began his career in media at CNN, where he honed his skills in videography and editing. His creativity and technical precision led him to freelance and establish Redbird Mediaworks, a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his craft.

For the past eight years, Kamau was a valued member of the media team at World Changers International, where he was admired for his expertise and camaraderie.

A true connoisseur of culture, Kamau was a gifted musician who found joy in playing his bass guitar and drums. His love for music was matched only by his enthusiasm for exploring world cultures through food, music, and travel.

Kamau was an adventure seeker, immersing himself in the thrill of both serene and extreme sports. From cycling and hiking to water sports and snowboarding, he embraced life with an adventurous spirit, always ready to try something new.

Recently, he found a new passion in pickleball, which brought him immense joy and community. Kamau was a man of many talents, and his interests extended beyond music and sports. He had a knack for technology, mechanics, and cars, always eager to tinker and learn. An advocate for lifelong learning, he kept his mind as active as his body, sharing his knowledge and resources with friends and colleagues.

His sociable and welcoming nature made him a friend to all he met, and his lighthearted, approachable demeanor endeared him to many. A celebration of Kamau's life will be held on May 1, 2026, at 12:00 PM at The Chapel at World Changers International, located at 2500 Burdett Rd, Atlanta, GA 30349. We invite all who knew and loved Kamau to join us in honoring his remarkable journey.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Suzy O. for her efforts in organizing Kamau’s pickleball community to gather in his honor and for their generous donation to support his youngest daughter’s education.
