Keith Morgan Obituary

In Loving Memory of

Keith Fitzroy Morgan

March 5, 1942 – March 5, 2025

With hearts both heavy and grateful, we celebrate the life of Keith Fitzroy Morgan, a man whose warmth, humor, and zest for life touched all who knew him. Born on Thursday, March 5, 1942, to Cleveland Jeremiah Morgan and Myrtle Sibblies-Morgan, Keith’s journey was one of resilience, passion, and deep love for his family.

Keith pursued his education at the College of Arts, Science, and Technology (CAST), where he studied management. This knowledge was utilized in various management positions he held throughout the years, particularly the fifteen years he spent at Venus Manufacturing Company.

His faith was a guiding force throughout his life. Baptized as an infant and confirmed at 13, he remained a devoted member of the Anglican Church, though he attended various other churches. A dedicated and hardworking man, Keith spent 22 years (1985–2007) at Hudson General as a Hydraulic Operator and Transportation Specialist at the two main airports in Queens, New York. He took pride in his work and formed lasting friendships and co-worker relationships. Keith was also an avid union member and supported it after retiring.

Beyond his career, Keith was a man of many passions. A true lover of music and dance, he could often be found dancing to reggae and R&B music, playing dominoes with friends, partying and drinking, or enjoying classic James Bond movies—especially those featuring Sean Connery.  He was skillful with catapults and slingshots, able to hit fast-moving targets at forty paces, which impressed his impressionable sons at an early age. Keith had a solidly green thumb as well; his hands were always busy tending to his garden. Over the years, he reaped so much callaloo and pepper to feed the whole country of Jamaica.

Keith cherished his Volvo cars, collecting several of the years. He loved working on them, cleverly using one for parts to keep the others running. He also loved his Jamaican cuisine very much. He would never pass up a plate of steamed fish, fritters, or chicken feet.

Above all, Keith cherished his many children and grandchildren, who were the center of his world. He loved to impress his Jamaica roots and knowledge especially upon his grandkids, sharing his wisdom with those who listened - “it is cheaper to learn from others mistakes” was one of his favorite sayings. On March 5, 2025, Keith departed this life, reuniting with those who went before him—his parents, Cleveland and Myrtle, and his beloved siblings Festus (Rickie), Lascelles (Popeye), Joycelyn, and Sonia (Punce). Keith’s legacy lives on through his loving children, Primrose Morgan-Conyers, Leighton Morgan, Yenton Morgan, Derrick Morgan, Angela Morgan Morris, and Annika Samuels, and his adoring grandchildren: Primrose’s children: Renee Barker & Roystan Richards; Leighton’s children: Ric-Anthony Morgan, Khaleb Morgan & Leigh-Shawun Morgan; Yenton’s children: Aaron Morgan, Brandon Morgan & Kaitlyn Morgan; Derrick’s children: Mikaela Morgan & Elijah Morgan; Angela’s children: Rochelle Morris & Ty Morris; Annika’s children: Claire Samuels, Preston Samuels & Connor Samuels. Keith is also survived by his siblings, who will forever hold his memory close: Vina Morgan-Mallory (Nez), Merlin Morgan Gooding (Gem), Charles Morgan, Elaine Jean Stewart, Daniel Morgan, Ivor Morgan, Claudette Morgan-Kerr (Wanda), Seymour Morgan (Tony), Glendon Morgan, Earl Morgan, and Barbara Morgan-Hewitt, along with countless family members, friends, and loved ones who were blessed to share in his laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love. Though Keith has left this world, his spirit will forever dance in the hearts of those he loves. May his journey be peaceful, and may his legacy live on in the stories, smiles, and songs of those he held dear. Rest in peace, Keith; you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
