Kirby Westberry, 82, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
Kirby "Mighty Midget" Westberry, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, surrounded by family at his home in Lilburn, Georgia. Born on May 20, 1944, in Reidsville, Georgia, Kirby was the seventh of nine children born to Leon Westberry and Effie Davis Westberry.
Kirby's life was defined by determination and a tireless work ethic. Over the years, he held numerous jobs, including roles at Hale's Tobacco, Claussen Bakery, Davey Tree Expert-FL Power/Light, Sav Oil, A&P Tea Company, and Five Star Automotive. An entrepreneur at heart, Kirby owned and operated security companies and a cleaning business alongside his family. His industrious spirit also led him to write and sing songs for well-known artists, perform in clubs, sell Kirby vacuums door-to-door, work as a private investigator, and serve as a process server.
Family was always central to Kirby's life. He cherished his roles as a husband, father, brother, and friend. He was devoted to maintaining close relationships with his siblings and provided care for them in times of need.
When they say money cannot buy you happiness, they did not know Kirby and Jeannette's story. Kirby met Jeannette because she wrote her number on a five dollar bill and his friend gave it to him for cigarettes. Kirby asked his friend who's telephone number is this and the friend said "oh it's this great sweet girl I met, you should give her a call and 53 years later, Happiness can still be seen after the teardrops fall with the love these two had!
Preceded in death by his parents; his son Glenn Coley Westberry; three brothers: Coley Westberry, Leon Westberry Jr., and Paul Westberry; three sisters: Thelma Mattox, Alma Walker, and Melba Peal; and his daughter-in-law Wanda Martin Westberry, Kirby is survived by his beloved wife Jeannette Westberry; his son Michael Anthony Westberry; his daughter Tina Marie(Westberry) Baumeister; an ex-son-in-law who remained like a son to him, Nick Baumeister; two grandsons: Bailey Coley Baumeister and Dillon James Cruse; two sisters: Libby (Edward) Waters of Savannah, Georgia, and Shirley (Phil) Rowan of Barnesville, Georgia; along with six nieces and four nephews and many other family members.
Kirby will be cremated according to his wishes. A memorial gathering will be planned at a later date to celebrate his life.
