Manuel Davila

Manuel Manny Davila was born on April 16, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York, to Eladia Ramirez Davila and Dolores Davila.

He received his formal education in Bronx, New York, and later furthered his studies by attending Mowhawk Community College in Mowhawk, New York.

To know Manny was to love him. He was a kind soul with a quiet strength, a big laugh, and a heart that always had room for others. He loved deeply, lived fully, and gave freely of his time and energy to the people he cared about.

On July 27, 1996, Manuel married Johanna Camacho in Bronx, New York. Their union was blessed with five children, Mariah A. Davila, Melanie S. Davila, Manuel Davila, Jr., Angel L. Padilla, and Julian X. Grassi.

Manny enjoyed playing softball, writing his books, painting, spending time with his loved ones, and watching his sports KNICKS, Giants, and The METS. Manny loved to cook and listen to old school R& B and Salsa music.

With heavy hearts, we grieve the passing of Manuel Manny Davila, Sr., who left us far too soon on July 28, 2025.

He is survived by his wife, Johanna Davila and his significant other of two years, Ivelisse Febles; his children, Mariah A. Davila, Melanie S. Davila, Manuel Davila, Jr., Angel L. Padilla, and Julian X. Grassi; grandchildren, aerison I. Davila, Liliana A. Grassi, Hayden A. Garceau, Angel Luis Padilla, Jr. (AJ), Adalina J. Padilla, Stryker Padilla, Maverick Padilla, and Alfonso Alexander Huerta; his parents, Eladia Ramirez Davila and Dolores Davila; sisters and brothers, Victor Davila, Marco Davila, Michael Davila, Robert Swan, Charlie Swan, Marjorie Davila, Dolores Dorry Davila, Evelyn Davila, Betty Simmons, Claire Swan, and Millie Barbour.

Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the time we had with Manny. His memory will live on in the stories we share, the laughs we remember, and the love he left behind.
