Marva Grace (Boone) Dunn
July 6, 1941 - September 4, 2025
Marva Dunn, age 84, of Snellville, Georgia, passed away on September 4, 2025, peacefully in her sleep.
She was born on July 6, 1941, in Kinston, North Carolina, to Theodore M McNeal, Sr., and Mary Elizabeth (Boone) Parker. She grew up in Kinston surrounded by her large extended family and a large circle of friends before leaving to travel the world as an Army wife and mother.
Marva was a lifelong learner who was passionate about fashion and decorating. After settling with her family in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she went back to school to study interior design, earning an associate's degree in 1992. The two things Marva cherished most were her faith in God and her love of her family. Her home was filled with books, pictures, and keepsakes devoted to both.
Marva was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore M McNeal, Sr., and Mary Elizabeth (Boone) Parker, as well as her oldest daughter, Almira “Sherri or Mira” Dunn.
She is survived by her son, George E. Dunn, Jr. (Victoria) of Atlanta, Georgia; her daughter, Robin Dunn Bryant (Lateef) of Tallahassee, Florida; and two grandchildren, Nailah Dunn and Jibril Bryant. She also leaves behind three sisters, Sharon McNeal Harris, Barbara McNeal Simmons, and Darlene McNeal Harrison; and two brothers, Val Parker (Yoel B’nai Yehuda on Facebook) and Theodore “Teddy” McNeal, Jr.
Beyond her immediate family, she will be lovingly remembered by a wide circle of extended family and lifelong friends who cherished her presence in their lives.
The family wishes to especially thank Linda Davis and all of the devoted care nurses who helped Marva enjoy her home each day and to help it be filled with joy, love, smiles, and laughs.
A private family service was held to celebrate Marva’s life and mourn her passing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the German Shepherd Dog Rescue of Georgia or Rooted Interiors. Rooted Interiors, Inc is a non-profit organization in Georgia with a mission to transform, design, and furnish empty houses into havens to those emerging from homelessness.
Services entrusted to Boston's Funeral & Cremation Service 404.228.1067.
