Michael Hammonds, 73, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026.

Michael James Hammonds was born May 5, 1952, in Jamaica, NY to the late Robert Woodrow Hammonds and Alinda Corbin Hammonds. He attended New York public schools. After high school Michael enlisted in the United States Army where he served honorably for three years receiving the National Defense and Vietnam Service Medals.

Wife: Cheryl Hammonds

Children: Keisha Hammonds and Gerard Hammonds of New York

Step Children: Cherika (Calvin) Grayson, Kaprisha (Michael) Fitzhugh, and Franklin Johnson of Atlanta, GA

Siblings: Unice (Jerry) Harshaw, Robert (Dorothy) Hammonds, Lee Hammonds, and Alan Hammonds

Sister in Law: Diane Taylor Brother in Law: Lamar Taylor of Camp Hill, AL
