With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William McKinley Greene II, who left us far too soon on July 10, 2025, at the age of 47. A resident of Lithonia, Georgia, William was born on September 15, 1977, in Hempstead, New York, to William and Ercilia Greene.
To know William was to love him. He was a kind soul with a quiet strength, a big laugh, and a heart that always had room for others. He was the kind of person who showed up—whether it was for a family gathering, a fishing trip, or just to watch the game with his dad and close friends. He loved deeply, lived fully, and gave freely of his time and energy to the people he cared about.
William spent most of his career in retail management, where his dedication, work ethic, and easy rapport with others made a lasting impression. But it was outside of work—when he was traveling, casting a line into the water, or just enjoying a meal with loved ones—where his true joy shined brightest.
He is survived by his parents, William and Ercilia Greene; his sister, Ashley Gaillard; his uncles James Greene and Isaac Greene; his aunts Cira Lara and Glenda Bethea; and a wide circle of cousins, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A celebration of William's life will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Boston's Funeral and Cremation Services.
Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the time we had with William. His memory will live on in the stories we share, the laughs we remember, and the love he left behind.
