William MacNabb Obituary

William Cotter “Bill” MacNabb, age 79, passed away in the comfort of his home in Atlanta, Georgia, surrounded by his loved ones.

Bill was born in Newnan, Georgia, on October 15, 1946, to the late George Malcolm MacNabb and Ella Parks MacNabb. After graduating from Newnan High School, he proudly served his country in Vietnam. Following his military service, Bill pursued his passion for storytelling, earning a journalism degree from the University of Georgia, which landed him a position with The Atlanta Constitution. A change of direction shortly thereafter, however, led him to Dealers Supply Company, where his lengthy career was defined by integrity and wise leadership, ultimately culminating in his role as President and Chairman of the Board.

A creative and witty writer, Bill saw his dream of becoming a published author come to fruition during his retirement years. He was widely known for his quick wit and signature sense of humor—a gift he beautifully retained until the very end.

Bill was a Christ-honoring man who walked with deep faith, finding immense comfort and strength in reading and reciting Psalms. His ability to find gladness and remain hopeful through life’s challenges was a profound testament to his character. He was a deeply devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose greatest legacy is the family he loved so well.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Cindy MacNabb; his children, Becky (Roy) Eyre, Sandy (Danny) Perry, and Emily (Adam) Bruso; his grandchildren, Aidan, Cotter, and Kaitlyn Eyre, Will Perry, and Brennan, Isaac, Natalie, and Joshua Bruso; and his brother, Joseph (Patty) MacNabb and half sisters Elizabeth MacNabb and Midge Neuman. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. George MacNabb, Jr., and his granddaughter, Hannah Perry.

The memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at North Avenue Presbyterian Church (607 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30308) with reception to follow.
